What is OCR?
Optical Character Recognition is "the mechanical or electronic translation of images of handwritten, typewritten or printed text (usually captured by a scanner) into machine-editable text", according to
Wikipedia
, the free encyclopedia. OCR allows you to make a scanned images text searchable.
If you scan a document using your personal scanner, you will usually get an image file (TIFF, JPEG) or a PDF that you can't search through. OCR allows you to convert these into editable text.
What is OCR Terminal
OCR Terminal is a one-stop web-based OCR (Optical Character Recognition) service that allows you to convert scanned images and pdf files into editable and text searchable documents. It not only accurately recognizes the characters and the text but is also able to preserve both the formatting and layout of documents.
You can convert PDF to Word, JPEG to Word, TIFF to Word and many other image formats into text editable formats.
